2021 Winter Update

Have your say about Future Foresters INTERNATIONAL!!!

Kia ora all forestry and wood industry folk and welcome to the Future Foresters newsletter!!

The FF Exec has been beavering the way in the background working on an initiative to connect young forest professionals on a global level. See this message that is being distributed around the globe:

Well hello, Young Forest Professional!

If you have been working in the forest sector for less than 15 years and/or are under 40 or are looking for a career in the forest sector, we want to know what’s on your mind.

A global network is currently under development by young forest professionals for young forest professionals. As the Inaugural Board works toward launching the Network in May 2022, we’re seeking your input on what would benefit you most in terms of services and structure. You can read more about the concept of the ForYP here.

Responding to this survey takes approximately 8-10 minutes. All responses received from this survey will be held confidential by the Board and used exclusively to inform our decisions as we build the Network. We will only contact you if you want us to do so.

We would also appreciate your help in disseminating these to your networks. Here’s a social media toolkit for this campaign. Feel free to share this through email or mailing lists or post it on your social media accounts.

Thank you very much for your interest and time. We look forward to hearing your valuable insights on/before August 10, 2021.

We can’t wait to get to know you!

Future Foresters got to hang and talk with the Forestry Minister at Field Days last month

Productive conversations were had about the plan for the “New” forest service and he shared his vision for the industry. An awesome opportunity and we believe Minister Nash was enthused by the efforts of Future Foresters and connecting and empowering young foresters in NZ!

Careers expos

We have been attending various careers expos and school visits throughout the country and providing school kids with a relatable face to talk to about the many diverse and rewarding forestry careers available!

Saturday 28th August – Rotoehu Road. – 8:30am
